No cost · The BuiltWorth Snapshot
See your business the way a buyer will.
Send three years of statements with your name blacked out. Get back one page: twelve measures against your industry line, what is working, and what buyers will test. Your Snapshot lands by email in two business days.
No cost. No company name required. No obligation after the call.
What this page is
Not a marketing page. This is a working page, the same foundation we use when a business is prepared for sale. Twelve measures, an industry line, and the things that actually drive value. If it reads more like a ledger than an ad, that's the point.
Who reads your statements

Kevin Simpson
Valuation and deal work
My desk is the only desk these land on. I read every Snapshot myself, by hand. Nothing here is generated, and nothing goes out that I have not looked at.
I also say so when the answer is boring. If your statements are clean and your margins sit where they should, the Snapshot says that in a paragraph instead of inventing problems.
Miss a letterhead? I catch it. If identifying detail slips through your blackout, I flag it to you before anything is analyzed, and it never appears in your Snapshot.

kevin@builtworthadvisory.comThe document you'll get
One page, twelve measures, every one sourced
Each measure sits next to the line for your industry, so you can see which side of it you are on. Five rows shown here.
Sample, illustrative figures
| Measure | Your reading | Against the line |
|---|---|---|
| Gross margin | 54.0% vs 48% line | Above |
| Debt to equity | 0.6x vs 1.2x line | Below |
| Rent to revenue | 9.4% vs 6% line | Above |
| Owner loan balance | $85,000 over three years | Flagged |
| Revenue trend | +9.5% a year | Up |
Illustrative figures only. They do not describe a real business and they are not a benchmark for yours.
How it works
Send your statements
Three years if you have them, income statement and balance sheet. Black out the company name first. A PDF from your accountant or a clear photo both work.
I run your numbers
By hand, against the published line for your industry and your country. Twelve measures, every one sourced, plus the things that will draw questions.
Review it together on a 30 minute call
Optional. The Snapshot arrives by email and that can be the end of it. If you want to walk through what it says, book the call and we will.
Where your statements go
Your files upload straight to private encrypted storage that only BuiltWorth can open. Not a shared mailbox, not a public link. One person reads them. They are never shared, never sold, and never used to train anything. Ask us to delete them and we will.
What this costs, and why it's free
It costs you nothing, and there is no second step you have to take
An owner who knows their own numbers is easier to work with, and easier to be honest with. Some of the people who get a Snapshot come back years later when they are ready to sell. Most do not, and the work still stands.
So there is no card to enter, no trial, and no drip sequence. The call after your Snapshot is optional, and if you skip it nothing happens. If you later want a formal valuation or help preparing the business, that is paid work and we would quote it plainly.
Your options, side by side
What else you could do instead
| Option | Cost | What it reads | What you end up with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Online calculator | Free | A revenue box and an industry dropdown | A number with nothing behind it |
| Free opinion of value | Free | Your statements, quickly | Usually the opening move in a listing pitch |
| Formal valuation | Paid engagement | Everything, in depth | A defensible number for banks, courts, and buyers |
| The Snapshot | Free | Three years, by hand, against your industry line | Where you stand on twelve measures, before you spend anything |
Who this is for, and who it isn't
Send your statements
- You own the business and you read the statements yourself
- You have three years of statements, however they were prepared
- You want to know where you stand before you talk to anyone
- A buyer, a partner, or a lender is going to look at your numbers soon
Skip this one
- You want a dollar value or a multiple. This page will not give you one
- You are pre-revenue, or the business is your side income
- You cannot share statements, even with the name blacked out
- You need a defensible number for a bank, a court, or a divorce. That is a formal valuation
Questions
Before you send anything
Nothing now, and nothing later. There is no charge for the Snapshot and no obligation after the call. If you later want a formal valuation or help preparing the business for sale, that is paid work and we would quote it. Most people who get a Snapshot never buy anything, and that is fine.
Your files upload to private storage and I get a note that something arrived. I read the statements by hand, set your numbers against the published line for your industry, and email you one page. Two business days. If your statements are too thin to read, I tell you what is missing instead of guessing.
One person. Kevin Simpson, who does the valuation work here. Your files are never shared with buyers, never listed anywhere, never sold, and never used to train anything. Ask us to delete them and we will.
Anyone who wants a price. The Snapshot tells you where your numbers sit against your industry and what a buyer will test. It does not put a value on your business. It is also wrong for pre-revenue businesses, because there is nothing to compare yet.
Some niches have no clean line to compare against. When that happens I say so on the measure rather than reaching for a loose proxy, and I use the closest defensible comparison alongside your own three year trend. Your trend against yourself is often the more useful read anyway.
Send what you have. One year gives you the twelve measures against your industry. Two or three years also give you the trend, which is what a buyer looks at hardest. Less history means a shorter Snapshot, not a worse one.
Send your statements
Before you upload, black out or crop
- Company name and logo on every page
- EIN or business number, and any state or provincial registration number
- Street addresses
Miss one? I catch it, flagged to you before analysis, never in your Snapshot.
